How to travel and reach Shamator District

The first destination to reach Shamator from other parts of India is Dimapur city, the only district with an airport and a railway station.

By Air

If you’re flying to Nagaland to reach Shamator district from any part of the world, as soon as you step out, you will get local taxis waiting to chauffer tourists either on a full hire or per-head basis. The taxis will cost you about 2000-3000 INR from the Dimapur airport, via Mokokchung and Tuensang.

By Train

Anyone coming to Nagaland by railway can book local taxis that are easily available right outside the train station. However, following a few procedures according to the state transport system is very important. Make sure to find a ticket booth before hiring or hopping into any taxi especially if you are a first-timer in Nagaland to avoid getting scammed over taxi fares.

By bus

You can conveniently reach Shamator District from Dimapur by taking the Nagaland State Transport bus service through Kohima, Mokokchung, and Tuensang.

In addition to local taxi and bus options, travelers can also utilize Fast Cab, a reliable car rental service designed to facilitate transportation across the various districts of Nagaland.
