Chungliyimti is a rustic and serene village soaked in folklore and tradition. The village and its adjoining areas remain places of huge interest for anthropological and archaeological studies. For history and culture buffs crossing or staying in Tuensang, this place is a must-see.
The village is a quaint little rural corner in the district with no more than a few hundred residents. But the place is steeped in old history associated with several tribes in the region.
Close to the settled village is an ancient site called the Longterok Stones. These stones occupy a unique place in local folklore because they’re believed to be the origins of several Ao-Naga and Sangtam clans/tribes.
