Ways To Reach Chumukedima
Travel By Road
As mentioned, Chumukedima is a newly formed district so a good part of its land was originally Dimapur. That said, If you’ve safely landed at the Airport, congrats, you’re only a mile away from the district.
Now, Chumukedima is connected to Dimapur and Kohima by the main national highway. Once you’re on the main road, you’ll notice plenty of three-wheelers taking passengers between Dimapur and Chumukedima.
The fare for shared seats usually costs INR 20- INR 40 depending on the distance. However, if you’re hiring, the charge is commonly set at INR 150 or higher.
Means Of Transport Within The District
Similar to traveling to Chumukedima, the usual mode of transport within the district is by three-wheelers (Auto-Rickshaws). Almost identical charges apply:
- INR 20- INR 50 for shared seats
- INR 100 or higher if hired
More options: Although a little more expensive, car and two-wheeler rental services are available in Chumukedima for travelers to get by within the district.
All Ride Rental is located at Unity Village, 5th Mile, Chumukedima, and offers both options. To rent the rides, you’ll need a driving license and your official PAN Card.
