The Kachari Ruins also known as the Dimasa Kachari Ruins is located just a stone’s throw away from Dimapur’s supermarket area. It is one of the only living testament left of the Dimasa Kachari Kingdoms that ruled back in the 10th century.

These ruins are a collection of distinct stone pillars that are shaped like mushrooms or as the locals would say “big chess pieces”. Each pillar is well-crafted and unique, and interestingly enough, historians and onlookers alike can only guess the purpose these remnants once had for the kingdoms which adds mystery to the ancient site.

While most of these ruins stand strong and unfazed by time, few have crumbled yet their fragments remain.
