If you are looking for an escape from the loudness of a big city life in search of tranquillity and a time to connect with nature, Tseminyu is an ideal place to go to. You can also take time out and visit the Chunlikha Village is located 20 minutes drive away from Tseminyu. It is considered the cleanest village in under Tseminyu district.

Visitors can get adventurous and go trekking to the beautiful mountains or explore the rural-village and collect stories of their old customs and their rich history or even choose to enjoy a slow day and go bird watching in the melancholy of the forest.

The Sendenyu biodiversity conservation area is considered as one of the most successful community initiated projects in 2001. The area is spread out to 18 sq km and has now expanded to 20 sq km with plans to further expand.

This initiative has received the Balipara Foundation Award as well as the Governor’s Gold Medal Award. You can take a walk through the trail of the beautiful regenerated forest. The viewpoint is a strategic location where you can see the whole conservation area as well as villages that are adjoining the area.

Next up is the Triple Falls located deep inside the lush tropical jungle of Seithekema, a small village in the district of Chumukedima. As the name suggests, the main attraction is the three natural streams that fall from a height of 280 ft, that graciously meet below in the same natural pool.

On the outskirts of Sendenyu Village lies a noteworthy spot known as Mount Prayer, which can be reached in approximately 30 minutes. According to local legend, a man of God once discovered a mystical Bible at this very location.

It is said that those who have attained enlightenment are granted the remarkable ability to see and read this sacred Bible. The story of Mount Prayer adds a layer of spiritual significance to the area, drawing visitors and seekers alike to experience its unique ambiance and connection to divine wisdom.

Mt. Terogvuthun Peak

This peak, standing at 1,723 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the Tseminuyu sub-division and is just a short hike from Terogvunyu Village. The hiking trail is well-maintained, adorned with ornamental flowers and a clear path that guides you to the summit.

Along the way, you’ll encounter historical guard posts that date back to the era of headhunting, as well as spirit stones used by villagers to forecast future events. Additionally, there is a fascinating mythical stone shaped like a goat that adds to the area’s allure.
