Ways To Reach Wokha
Travel By Road
NH29 and NH2 are the main roads connecting Dimapur to Wokha. Depending on the traffic, it takes approximately 3-5 hours to reach the district. There are two ways you can travel by road:
- Sumo – The sumo counter, A.B. Travels is located at Blue Hill Station, Golaghat Road, Dimapur, approximately 7.7 km (4.7 miles) from the airport. The ticket cost per person is ₹650 and the service is open six days a week (Mon-Sat.)
- Private Cars – Although more expensive, private cars offer the most convenience. For a one-way trip, the price range starts from ₹3000-₹6000 depending on factors. Premium car service/rental is located in Kirha Village, Airport Road, Dimapur, a few minutes from the airport.
Travel By Air
Dimapur offers a helicopter to travel conveniently to Wokha and the estimated time to reach is 25 minutes. The price for a seat on the aircraft is ₹1625 for an adult and ₹162 for an infant of 0-2 years.
The only downside is that the travel-by-air option to Wokha is only available on Fridays.
Means Of Transport Within The District
To get around town, the general modes of transport used in Wokha are Auto-rickshaws and Taxis. The autos typically charge ₹20/person for shared seats and ₹150 for personal travel around town. Additionally, taxis, although more comfortable, charge ₹200 for the same.
